flu update h1n1

How pork producers know if their pigs have a fever?
Then I read a new update today on the 'flu status of swine and have a section on how people who work with pigs on farms are supposed to watch for signs that pigs are sick of H1N1. (http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/guidelines_commerical_settings_with_pigs.htm just the most fascinating reading, but it's like that, lol) So how farmers know if the pig has a temperature? Do not stick a thermometer up all day pigs butt? Can you tell by feeling your forehead? Is it some thing, they usually do every day anyway? I know it sounds silly, but reading this article made me wonder. Thank you for your answers! Cheers!
Well, I do not have pigs, but I have cattle and goats, and the fever will be the protagonists, if you know what to look for. They lose their appetite, the kind of outside support for them, their eyes are a form of flint, and of course, is hot to the touch. I doubt pork actually measure the temperature of the animals every day, but you probably know what an animal, usually looks bad, can be detected outside the pen, and then you can verify.
